What We Do

Young women are less likely to see their personal struggles as separate issues. They see their reproductive freedom as intrinsically connected to the other obstacles and barriers that they face: from lacking basic health insurance to seeing an increase in life-threatening sexually transmitted diseases in their communities, to the dwindling number of programs that offer medically-accurate sex education.

The Pro-Choice Public Education Project seeks to bridge the gap between young people and the organizations that serve them within the pro-choice community and beyond. We have three main program areas that compliment each other to achieve this goal.

Communications
PEP creates activist tools and messages based on our research results and the input of our Young Women's Leadership Council.

Youth Leadership Development
PEP forges opportunities for emerging young leaders to find their voice and gain the skills needed to make change in their communities.

Research
PEP conducts research on the opinions and experiences of young women ages 16-25 in order to create messaging and communications tools based on the research results in order to involve young women in the reproductive justice movement.

Movement Building
Through our Movement Building Technical Assistance Project (TAP) and strategic partnerships with other organizations, we provide new ways of thinking about and engaging with young people.
