Technical Assistance Project

TAP works with 4 reproductive rights organizations and 2 community-based women of color organizations in the Northwest to draw interest in the others’ focus.PEP strengthens the reproductive rights organizations in incorporating more young women of color as activists and assists the women of color organizations to incorporate reproductive rights as a matter of racial justice within their programs. Our vision is to integrate the knowledge gained from our research into their culture and programs and inculcate them with an empowerment-based approach to advocacy and education. With this more focused approach, we develop and sustain partnerships with organizations on the ground and provide on-going support to these groups who do not have access to such resources. TAP elevates the work of these groups in a more consistent way and creates more locally rooted impact around engaging young women of color in the reproductive health and rights movement.

Groups participating in TAP include:

Backline in Portland, OR
Network for Reproductive Options in Eugene, OR
Northwest Women’s Law Center in Seattle, WA
NARAL Pro-Choice Washington in Seattle, WA
Seattle Young People’s Project in Seattle, WA
Communities Against Rape and Abuse in Seattle, WA
